In our Plant Science Conversations series, the Garden's leadership break down cutting-edge plant science during casual conversations with fascinating researchers. This month we’ve invited Drs. Morgan Gostel and Andrea Weeks, researchers studying the frankincense and myrrh family of plants. During this online conversation they will discuss the science and technology involved in determining how plants are related and why understanding plant relationships is vital to protecting plants now and into the future.
Intended Audience: Adult All Levels: Suitable for all learners, this program will provide a variety of content. Program providers will answer both introductory and more advanced questions.

Dr. Morgan Gostel is a Research Botanist at the Botanical Research Institute of Texas. His research focuses on understanding plant relationships and evolutionary history, specifically within the aster family and the frankincense and myrrh family. His lab has developed technology that makes understanding plant relationships easier and more accessible.
