In this second online program celebrating the Garden's bicentennial, join us for an exploration of the U.S. Botanic Garden today and into the future. Since its founding in 1820, the Garden has evolved through time, while staying true to its mission of connecting people and plants. This panel will discuss the Garden's current and future plant collections, science and conservation work, education, outreach, and more.

    Susan Pell (she/her) Deputy Executive Director @ U.S. Botanic Garden

    A botanist and educator, Susan has traveled the world collecting plants for scientific study. At the USBG, she is responsible for science, education, communication, interpretation, visitor services, and special events. Using her expertise, Susan shows people the awesomeness of plants every day.

    Devin loves working at the USBG, where he combines his professional communications experience with his personal passion for plants and gardens. He holds bachelor's degrees in Agricultural Communications and Spanish from Auburn University and a master's in International Environmental Communication.

    Jim Adams Horticulture Manager @ U.S. Botanic Garden

    Jim is well known in DC horticulture, having previously worked as Head Horticulturist at the British Ambassador's Residence, Curator of the National Herb Garden at the U.S. National Arboretum, and for the National Park Service as Supervisory Horticulturist at the White House.
