Susana Otero - Preparation and response to the COVID-19 pandemic: experience of Vall d'Hebron Hospital

Dr. Susana Otero, epidemiologist, physician associate in the Preventive Medicine and Epidemiology Service of Vall d'Hebron University Hospital and principal investigator of the research group in Epidemiology and Public Health of the Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR), will describe what the hospital's strategy has been to face the challenge caused by the increased demand for care that the COVID-19 epidemic has entailed since community transmission began in our environment. The main actions carried out in four areas will be detailed: healthcare capacity, infection prevention and control at the hospital level, epidemiological surveillance and communication.
