About this event
What is this webinar about:
The adage that cats are not small dogs is especially true when it comes to nutrition. As obligate carnivores, cats have different nutritional requirements than the omnivorous canine. Their anatomy, physiology, and behaviour have all evolved around eating small prey. What should we understand about incorporating the native way cats eat? But what does this mean to us as clinicians? How, how often, how much to feed as well as what to feed is important for feline welfare. How do we ensure a kitten is growing appropriately and can we prevent obesity in adults and sarcopenia in older cats? This presentation will include how, by using a nutritional assessment in every consultation, existing feeding practices can be assessed and, if needed, a tailored nutrition plan can be developed for a given individual.
