Joe has more than 38 years of high technology engineering, construction, supply chain, and manufacturing experience as well as nearly 30 years of global business development experience. Joe has led the establishment of multiple entities in Asia (Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, China). Joe recently joined the ABM team as Vice President of Semiconductor Operations. Additionally, Joe currently serves as a member of the Board of Advocates for the Baylor University School of Engineering and Computer Science, and as the President for Junior Achievement of Central Texas. Joe earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering and computer science from Baylor University and has completed graduate studies in international business and the management of technology. Joe has been married to Beth for 39+ years and has 3 children, Nicholas (33), Zachary (31), and Taylor (28) and two granddaughters, Jade (6) and Sophia (1).
Russ Sanchez is a seasoned operations and business leader with over two decades of experience driving excellence in the manufacturing operations of semiconductors, microelectronics, printed electronics, antenna technology, and hard drives. Mr. Sanchez arrived at YES from NthDegree Worldwide Technologies, where he was Vice President of Operations. Before that, he held a variety of roles within Manufacturing and Quality at technology companies including Airgain, NXP Semiconductors, ST Microelectronics/Western Digital Corporation, Hynix Semiconductor of America, and Philips Semiconductors. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
In his current role, Barry leads strategic growth and innovation within the company’s semiconductor logistics segment—one of the key focus areas under Kuehne+Nagel’s global Roadmap 2026 strategy. Recognizing the industry’s unique supply chain demands, he has been instrumental in developing SemiconChain—a dedicated, quality-certified network now spanning more than 35 locations across major semiconductor hubs. This specialized infrastructure enables seamless logistics for semiconductor equipment manufacturers, IDMs, and foundries, ensuring consistent service, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across the global supply chain. Barry works closely with customers to address critical challenges—from handling ultra-sensitive tools to navigating global disruptions and achieving high compliance standards. Throughout his career, Barry has helped businesses meet complex objectives across all modes of transport—air, sea, road, and warehousing.
Julia L Freer is an award-winning author and business owner with a background in materials science who has been studying and writing about sustainable manufacturing since 2017. Her books include Material Value (2019), Rethink the Bins (2020), Beyond the Green Team (2022), and Materials and Sustainability (2024). Julia began her career as a process development engineer at nCHIP working on flip chip packaging before migrating to journalism as technical editor of Advanced Packaging Magazine. Her company, rebranded as Material Value Consulting in 2025, works with sustainability-minded manufacturers to position them as industry leaders with smart content marketing strategies and implementation. Julia also writes a monthly Sustainability 101 column for 3D InCites. Julia holds a PhD in materials science from UC Berkeley, an MS in materials science from Stanford University, and a BS in engineering from Harvey Mudd College. She lives in the greater Seattle area.
Françoise von Trapp is known throughout the semiconductor and microelectronics industries as the “Queen of 3D” for founding 3D InCites and influencing the course of semiconductor device packaging technologies. As Editorial Director of 3D InCites, she represents the community as an industry podcaster and blogger, covering symposia and conferences, participating in trade shows, and moderating panels and webinars. Before founding 3D InCites, Françoise was Managing Editor of Advanced Packaging Magazine and a contributor to Chip Scale Review.
