Steve is a Chartered Environmentalist and has >35 years’ experience as a practicing asbestos management and environmental consultant. He has extensive practical experience and expertise in asbestos-contaminated land, including; development of policy, procedures and guidance, as well as asbestos in soil technical training. He is author of the industry guidance ‘Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, Interpretation for Managing and Working with Asbestos in Soil and Construction & Demolition Materials’ (CAR-SOIL). He has undertaken expert consultant / witness roles in relation to asbestos management in buildings and land, providing expert advice and opinion in relation to £multi-million disputes.
Jo is a chartered civil engineer and environmentalist with over thirty-five years of experience. She now works as Jo Strange Consulting offering specialist geo-environmental and waste / material management services to the development / construction industry and especially ‘brownfield’ projects. She is a registered QP/SQP with CL:AIRE. Her goal is to provide technically correct, commercially acceptable, practical, cost effective and sustainable, integrated solutions to ground/contamination and waste/material resource related problems. Jo has acted as an Expert Witness. Jo is an SCE and Reviewer for the ICE and a STEM Ambassador. She is the current Chair of the AGS Loss Prevention Working Group.
Nick provides contentious and non-contentious planning, environmental and health and safety (EHS) law advice across a broad range of sectors and jurisdictions, including energy, transport and pharmaceuticals. He has particular expertise in WFW’s core sectors of energy and transport, where he advises on the planning and EHS aspects of renewables, oil and gas and conventional power projects. In the UK real estate sector Nick focusses on identifying and mitigating risks arising from contaminated land in planning, acquisitions and finance.
Ian’s company produces and supports the industry standard, hazardous waste classification software, HazWasteOnline™. His background includes geology, geophysics, environmental data management and 16 years working for Golder Associates, now WSP. He started One Touch Data in 2008, just as the banking system crashed; the crisis leading to a change in direction and the development of the waste classification software; HazWasteOnline™, first released in 2010. Today, he spends a lot of time working with stakeholders to help improve standards and understanding of lab testing and waste classification across the industry.
Joe has over 25 years of experience and a very strong technical understanding of contaminated land / environmental risk and associated development issues, underpinned by an acute commercial understanding and an entrepreneurial approach to project delivery. Joe established Jackson Remediation in 2021 and has managed its growth to being one of the UK’s leading remediation contractors.
