About this event
USING SMART METER DATA FOR BETTER POLICYMAKING
It’s been over a decade since the GB smart meter rollout began, and the majority of homes and small businesses now have one installed. As the way we consume energy changes, these meters provide a rich dataset that can help guide policymakers, regulators and others. This webinar will showcase how smart meter data is already being used to better inform public-policy development and support the energy transition. We will be joined by representatives from Ofgem and Sustainability First to debate what more could be done to make best use of this new data resource going forward and consider the policy questions it may help answer. Current speakers include:
Gavin Knott (Chief Economist, Ofgem)
Maxine Frerk (Associate, Sustainability First)
Simone Chiappi (Head of Innovation, Smart Metering Implementation Programme, DESNZ)
Sarah Deasley (Director, Frontier Economics)
Alex Whittaker (Associate Director, Frontier Economics)
Callum Cheshire (Consultant, Frontier Economics)
This webinar will be presented in English.
