Join Prof. Petzer as she will discuss udder health with specific focus on the resistance profile of mastitis pathogens in SA dairy herds; the effective treatment, includes effective antibiotic use and application thereof, but also other management protocols.

About our speaker

Prof. Inge-Marié Petzer BVSc, MSc, PhD

Inge-Marié joined the University of Pretoria in 1996 as a specialist in bovine udder health teaching pre- and post-graduate students and as manager of the milk laboratory of the department of Production Animals Studies. She has presented numerous workshops and courses on bovine udder health for industry as well as CPD courses to veterinarians (nationally and internationally).   Number of publications: 2 books; 38 publications in peer reviewed journals; 45 congress papers (National and International) as well as a keynote speech; 28 posters (National and International); 135 semi-scientific articles; Speaker at 138 producer days (on invitation).

    Prof. Petzer is currently working on projects (s) investigating practical solutions for dairy farmers regarding non aureus staphylococci (NAS), Streptococcus uberis udder infections, antimicrobial resistance in South Africa and is also investigating milking machine take-off settings.
