unPacked: Know Your Number: What the 2027 EPR Fees Mean for Your Budget

About this event

"Finance needs a 2027 EPR number. Where do we get one?"

It's budget season, and the 2027 EPR fees landed right in the middle of it. CAA released the fee schedules for California, Colorado, Oregon and Washington on October 1, just as most finance teams started building next year's numbers, and almost every conversation we've had since has started with the same question: "Finance needs a 2027 EPR number. Where do we get one?"

If someone in finance is asking it at your company, bring them with you. We built this hour for both of you.

For most brands the news is good, but what it means for your budget depends on your packaging and where you sell it.

Erika Mallery will walk through what changed in each state and why, Alyssa Dizon will give you a live look at the updated rePurpose Fee Calculator. Alissa Heller will be on to answer questions from her perspective of working with customers every day. And, as always, Lowell Huffman hosts, and he'll keep it human and make the fee math feel less scary.

What we'll cover:

  • What changed in the 2027 fees, state by state, and why
  • Which packaging materials came in lower than expected, and which didn't
  • How to build your 2027 budget and what to carry into 2028, including California's source reduction bonuses and maluses
  • The questions your CFO will ask, and how to answer them together
  • A live look at rePurpose's Fee Calculator
  • Your fee questions, answered live

We hope you'll join us live for this part 2 of our planning series. Our goals is to help you get your EPR data foundation and budget ready for 2027 and beyond. Part one laid the foundation, covering where your number comes from and how to get your packaging data in shape, so if you missed it, watch it here before October 27.

Who should attend:

Finance and FP&A leads who own the EPR budget line, together with the sustainability, packaging, compliance and supply chain leads who build the number, and anyone who owns EPR reporting for their company, whether or not it's your whole job.
