Canine Pancreatitis - is it really such a pain?

Our collaborative presentation will focus on the medical and imaging recognition, diagnosis and treatment of canine pancreatitis. We will also briefly discuss adrenomegaly. Although development in the fields have not been extensive, we hope to give you practical guidelines for diagnosis and treatment that can assist in practice.   

About our speakers

Prof. Paolo Pazzi

I am currently an associate professor in small animal internal medicine, Department of Companion Animal Clinical Studies, Faculty of Veterinary Science. I qualified at Onderstepoort in 2005 and worked in Johannesburg for 1 year and the United Kingdom for 2.5 years. In 2010 I started my small animal internal medicine residency at Onderstepoort, qualified with my MMedVet in 2013 and achieved European Diplomate status in 2016. I completed a PhD in canine neoplasia, thrombosis and markers of metastasis in 2022. 

Dr Nicolene Hoepner

I completed my BVSc degree in 2012 at the University of Pretoria. Thereafter I worked at an equine referral practice for approximately 4 years. In 2017 I returned to the faculty as a clinical lecturer while completing my BVSc Honours degree. I have since started a MMedVet in Diagnostic Imaging and hope to complete it in 2023.
