Detecting early signs of disease is often crucial to achieving the best possible patient outcomes. To date, blood-based liquid biopsies have received the most attention, particularly for detection of cancer, where they can act as a relatively simple alternative to surgical biopsies.

However, the use of saliva-based liquid biopsies has recently been gaining significant momentum. Saliva collection is convenient, painless, non-invasive, offers repetitive sampling opportunities and therefore, facilitates early diagnosis, real-time monitoring of disease progression and treatment response. These saliva-based testing solutions available to physicians, present tremendous breakthroughs in precision diagnostics, by shortening the diagnostic journey and allowing earlier access to treatment.

What this webinar will cover

This webinar will outline new clinical diagnostics utilizing RNA and how they improve the diagnostic journey for patients. These advances in precision diagnostics accelerate the improvement of patient outcomes, thereby reducing barriers to the adoption of novel clinical tests and patient access.

Learning objectives:

  • Learn about breakthrough applications of microRNA-related diagnostics within systemic conditions.
  • Understand neurological and gynaecological disease use cases for salivary nucleic acids and/or microbiome analysis.
  • Gain awareness of RNA as an analyte from saliva, benefits of RNA sample collection and stabilization with at-home collection kits, and how they are transforming the standard of care for patients/donors, providers/researchers and laboratories.
  • Discover how saliva sampling can help to capture unique biological signals of relevance that traditionally may be found in blood.
  • Explore the value of demonstrating clinical utility and evolving evidence related to innovative liquid biopsy-related technologies to facilitate adoption of, and access to, precision diagnostics.
