From 2 August 2025, the provisions of the AI Act will apply to general purpose AI (GPAI) such as ChatGPT and Gemini. Providers must fulfil obligations relating to documentation, transparency and copyright, among other things. The GPAI Code of Practice shall provide practical guidance, but it is only getting finalized these days.
