unPacked: Your 2027 Canada EPR Checklist, Province by Province

About this event

Reporting packaging in every Canadian province means dealing with 13 organizations.

Canada has no single national program. Each province and territory sets its own rules, so you register, report and pay fees in each one where you sell. And 2027 changes how that reporting works.

Starting with the reports due May 31, 2027, a new harmonized list of 62 categories replaces the old ones for reporting to your PRO, including for 2026 supply data. Some things stay the same: regulators in Ontario, Alberta and Nova Scotia keep their own categories, and which materials are covered still varies by province.

Whether you're preparing for your 2027 reports or reporting for the first time, Erika Mallery walks through what's changing and what isn't, step by step. Faith Gunn shares what our customer success team is seeing from brands getting ready.

  • Are you the obligated producer? How the producer hierarchy works for brands based outside Canada
  • Registering vs. reporting: who you register with, and where your supply data goes, province by province
  • The new 62-category list, and how to re-map your 2026 data to it
  • Other 2027 changes, from British Columbia's new automotive and canister categories to Québec's deposit-refund expansion
  • Reporting for the first time? Registration timing, back-reporting, and which year's categories to use
  • Small business exemptions, deductions, and the two invoices to budget for
  • Your Canada questions, answered live

Every registrant gets our Canada EPR Compliance Checklist, including the province-by-province registration table and the 2027 milestone calendar.

Who should attend:
