  Dr Quixi Sonntag

  Dr Quixi Sonntag qualified as a vet in 1986 and is currently the owner of EduPet Veterinary Behaviour Consulting and co-owner of her family business Mooikloof Companion Animal Centre which comprises a pet hotel and spa, dog training and behaviour centre and pet relocation service. She currently works as a pet wellbeing consultant to this enterprise and offers pet behaviour consultations. Quixi worked as a private veterinarian for 22 years before joining the Faculty of Veterinary Science, University of Pretoria, as a lecturer until 2023, training veterinary science and veterinary nursing students in animal behaviour, handling and welfare as well as life skills. She retired from academia in 2023 and She is passionate about the human-animal relationship and its potential to improve quality of life for both animals and humans, and where these interests are in conflict, to advocate for animals in ways that empower humans.
