About this event
Live export for slaughter by sea is a contentious ethical, animal welfare and economic issue, which was unanimously not supported by the entire South African industry until earlier this year. Although this remains the view of the South African Veterinary Association (SAVA), we recognises the prospect that this may continue. SAVA has collaborated with Australian experts in the field to provide an educational webinar to better help prepare South African vets about these issues.
We will cover: The life of a vet during (before and after) the voyage; the practical and regulatory aspects of monitoring health and welfare, and the handling of problems encountered during the voyage.
